As the regular pandemic-prevention became a new normal, Poly Theatres Company flexibly and resolvedly picked up its pace in pushing forward global collaborations. International work has always stayed in the mission central. Over the past year, Department of International Partnership, its JV- Poly Armstrong International Arts and Communication Company Limited, office to Europe, and its office to the US have brought its International Endeavor a highlight amid gloomy pandemic.
1, Department of International Partnership has continuously implement the Company’s international strategy, supporting the Company to be better able to reach its international goal.
1) During the beginning of pandemic, Department has in timely liaison with over 30 institutions in performing arts, theatrical works, arts foundations, academy and etc., expressing Poly’s sincere concern and willingness to assist under common threat;
2) To have flexibly devised new proposals in adjusting international works, so as to respond well the need of international partners, seeking a mutually beneficial path amid adversity, establishing a positive standing for international cooperation.
2, Its Joint Venture, Beijing Poly Armstrong International Arts and Communication Company Limited, continues to play an active role in promoting culture exchange between China and the world beyond. In the meanwhile to bring China’s culture overseas, JV inputs greatly, with strict compliance with anti-pandemic policies, to develop local IPs with international standards and language.
1) Developments of Chinese IPs and Contents.
JV co-presented brand new dance drama “Yuanyuan Tan and Her Friends- Magic Night in Gallery”; Promoted Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra to tour in the UK；Worked with the founder of Akram Khan Company and Mr. Timmy Yip, the Globally-renowned Chinese Artist, to co-produce Chinese Dance Drama “Butterfly Lovers”; and in 2020, has helped Poly Theatres Company to enter an MOU with Milan Oltre Festival and co-initiate a twin city coordination event.
2) Proactively introduce high esteemed artists and orchestras to China, such as Mischa Maisky, British Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Charles Dutoit, the Swiss Conducting Master, and many others, to best prosper China’s performing arts market.
3, Offices to Europe and Northern America focus on bringing the latest news of International Festivals, music festivals, performing arts companies and representation agencies to China, as well as liaison to seek for business opportunities. They proactively liaison with leading European orchestras and artists like Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Deutsches Symphonie Orchester Berlin, Cello Master Steven Isserlis and etc., to plan for the 2022-2023 season. Worked closely with The Really Useful Group, GWB, Michael Cassel Group, Disney Group and others, to promote the international collaboration on quality IPs.
